Kirron Kher on Friday won from
Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat, defeating her nearest rival and Congress candidate
Pawan Kumar Bansal by a margin of 69,642 votes.
The 61-year-old actress, who jumped into electoral fray for the first time, polled 1,91,362 votes while four-time MP Pawan Kumar Bansal, who is a former railway minister, got 1,21,720 votes, election office said.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate
Gul Panag secured third position with 1,08,679 votes.
Naveen Jindal finishes third Industrialist-turned-politician Naveen Jindal, who is a sitting MP from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat from Haryana, has finished at third place.
The seat was bagged by BJP's Raj Kumar Saini who defeated his nearest rival Balbir Singh Saini (INLD) by 1,29,736 votes, election office said.
The BJP nominee polled 4,18,112 votes and INLD candidate got 2,88,376 votes.
Jindal got only 2,87,722 votes.
