Yaldā tree[edit]

I spoke with a colleague from Iran and he said Yaldā tree was not a thing. Can anyone confirm this is a widespread enough practice to be included on this page? 62.166.173.17 (talk) 22:39, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, Yaldā tree is not common in present day Iran. There's also another mistake in the article. Mithra is not the god of sun in ancient Iranian pre-Zoroastrian religion. It is the god off contract and alliance (based on Iranica encyclopedia). According to some researchers Yalda was the birth of Utu (Shamash) which was the god of sun in ancient Babylonia.
