  1. (historical) A competitive dance in blackface minstrel shows of the 19th century.
  2. (historical) The music for such a dance.
  3. (business) A walk taken around an office, hospital, etc. in order to communicate with staff members and gauge progress.
  4. A costumed character with the performer's face covered by a costume head.
