From Byzantine Greek φᾰγ- (phag-), perfective stem of ἔφᾰγον (éphagon, I ate, I devoured), singular first-person aorist active indicative form (by suppletion) of ἐσθῐ́ω (esthíō, to eat, devour, consume).
