  1. (law) A license of a trademark granted without quality control over the use of the trademark.
    • 2010, FreecycleSunnyvale v. The Freecycle Network, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals:
      We have held that the proponent of a naked license theory of trademark abandonment must meet a “stringent standard of proof.”
