kinoyl (uncountable)

  1. Alternative form of quinoyl
    • 1853, H.G. Leers, “On the chemical composition of quinidine”, in Pharmaceutical Journal and Transactions, volume XII, page 295:
If the heat be increased above 175°, the wine-yellow fluid ignites, burns with a red, vividly flaring, strongly sooty flame, evolving at the same time an odour of kinoyl and of oil of bitter almonds, and leaves behind a voluminous easily combustible charcoal.
