health warning (plural health warnings)

  1. (UK) An official edict that a particular substance or activity is dangerous, or an expression of such an edict.
    The law requires a health warning on packets of cigarettes.
  2. (UK, colloquial) An indication or admission that an opinion, statistic, etc. is to be treated with doubt or scepticism.
    Synonym: disclaimer
    As I am a member of that political party, my views must come with a health warning.
