預言者 (オペラ)

『預言者』（よげんしゃ、仏: Le Prophète、『予言者』と表記されることもある）は、ジャコモ・マイアベーアによる5幕のグランド・オペラである。初演はパリ・オペラ座（サル・ペルティエ）で1849年4月16日に行われた。ミュンスターでのアナバプテスト（再洗礼派）の蜂起（1534年 - 1535年）を素材にしているが、史実とは大きく異なる。ジャン・ド・レドのモデルはオランダ人の宗教家であるヤン・ファン・ライデンで、彼は16世紀の神聖ローマ帝国で発生したミュンスターの反乱の指導者の一人であり、ミュンスターの王に即位して独自の千年王国を築こうとしたが、敗北し処刑された。
