One Direction are teasing their fans with a taste of new music.
A snippet of the tune “Best Song Ever” appears in the newly-release trailer for their forthcoming first movie, the 3D concert film “This Is Us.” The three-minute-long clip should get hearts-racing; there’s the music, interviews with the famous five, and there’s a brief glimpse of a stripped-down Harry Styles.
The four-track “Best Song Ever” EP is due July 22 and is available for pre-order now from iTunes. The pretentiously-titled track is the first from the band’s awaited third album, release details for which haven’t yet been announced.
One Direction are currently on a worldwide tour in support of their second album “Take Me Home.” They’ve also recently announced the first two legs of a worldwide stadium tour for 2014 – including eight sold out dates in the U.K. and Ireland.
Since competing in the 2010 edition of “X-Factor,” One Direction’s career has gone stratospheric. The five-piece – comprising Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – have two albums to their name (“Up All Night” and “Take Me Home”) and more than 30 million global sales, according to Sony Music. They’ve won two BRIT awards, three MTV Europe Music awards, three Billboard Music awards and an ARIA Award.
The film, due later this year, is helmed by documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, who directed and starred in the Oscar-nominated “Super Size Me”.
