Gambia President Yahya Jammeh: Critics 'can go to hell'

Gambia's president of 17 years, Yahya Jammeh, was re-elected last month.

His human rights record has often been criticised by international organisations, with particular concerns over press freedom.

In an exclusive interview with BBC Africa's Umaru Fofana, he said his critics could "go to hell" because he feared "only Allah".

Although his 2007 claim to have found a cure for HIV/Aids has been widely dismissed by experts, he said its development was "going very well".
