With something this out-of-the-box, it only works the first time with someone who has the outsized street cred Pharrell has. This young man may be a successful model but merely comes across as a wannabe.
That is one sloppy-looking button fly by the way.
“I’m havin’ a bad, bad day
If you take it personal that’s okay
Watch, this is so fun to see
Huh, despicable me”
Fabulous street style. The colours complement each other perfectly and this guy has mastered the art of carrying off leopard print without it looking tacky and overbearing, which so many fail to do. Plus his hair brings so much to the overall look. Would love to have seen the cut of his pant and choice in footwear before awarding him the A*, but hey….
that hat will go down in history as “pharrell’s hat”. this handsome man would have appeared more stylish and original without it or a different hat. here, he looks like a pharrell wanna be. such a shame. FYI, even pharrell stopped wearing it…
I love portraits like this. Its full of different proportions and difficult to understand. It challenges me to understand it….well….I still haven’t..Too much, too everywhere. Is the point to grab attention, to show comfort with the counter-status-quo? Or is it really an expression of personality? We have no place to judge, but its fun. Tell him to crack a smile next time!
I’m glad he made it on here, but he looks silly. Also, I say he wouldn’t be using that Buffalo hat unless Pharrell did… which he did… and they both look silly. I like to think Pharrell knows his Hip-Hop and street-style history, so he knows ugly or foolish looks can be made cool with confidence and sprezzatura. This person looks too on the nose for me. Again, glad he made it, but… nah.
The world is not moving around US nor Pharrell. Can’t you guys see where this photo was taken? Yes, it’s Paris and he is a Japanese model. Kinda pathetic if you Americans think everything happens in this world is after America. He just loves hats. Google him ‘Louis Kurihara hat’. sigh…
Love the mix and match quality to the outfit. It looks like he through on a random ensemble, but he still looks put together and very fashion conscious. Not my favorite menswear look, but it is interesting and different.
A sorry fashion victim that was made to believe that fads=style. Love the composition of colors though, I would just rather see it on a canvas than on a human being.
This outfit reminds me of the kind of trendy gear that was worn at raves in the UK in the late ’80′s.
In fact, I have a photo of someone wearing an almost identical outfit that was published in The Face magazine back in 1988!

There’s just the amount of under-key and a kind of innocence/insouciance to pull off the proportion, color and design of the hat. A bit miraculous.
