Donald Glover Finishes This Is America Tour by Honoring Late Father, Playing Unreleased Music

Donald Glover finished off his farewell tour under the Childish Gambino moniker with back-to-back sold-out shows in Los Angeles Sunday and Monday (Dec. 17) night. The 35-year-old connected with The Forum crowd for a tender moment when reflecting on the loss of his father earlier this month.

"I lost my father a couple weeks ago," he emotionally relayed to the audience. "I wanted to play him some of the new songs, but he didn’t want to hear them because he was like, ‘I know they’ll be great.’ I’m not saying that to talk about music, I say that to talk about trust."

Gambino continued to salute his father before performing "Riot" and later touched on the treacherous year he's endured outside of his many professional successes. "I lost a lot of good people. I know it’s been a tough year for everybody, that’s what’s crazy. I wish I could change everything for everybody," he stated.

Glover also went on to tease an unreleased track that's are expected to land on his final album, which is expected to arrive next year. If you recall, Donald was slated to perform in Los Angeles back in September, before a foot injury during a Dallas show forced the "This Is America" artist to temporarily postpone his trek.
