    One of the greatest shooters ever made doesn't lose a thing on the iPhone.

    But while it is an almost perfect rendition of the game, the strafing problem with the default controls will annoy die-hard fans, making this version of DOOM more of a mobile companion piece, than the definitive version.

    While some players may find Doom a little too twitchy an experience for the iPhone, Classic succeeds because the basic formula is so beautifully uncomplicated: a series of rudimentary pleasures ranging from spotting something nasty, through to blowing it to pieces, and then stepping over the corpse.

    DOOM Classic not only recreates the classic shooter gameplay, but intelligently tailors it for the iPhone. id really put some thought into making the landmark shooter accessible to multiple audiences.

    At first, I found the controls for Doom on iOS highly uncomfortable. So I changed it, still finding them all uncomfortable, the puzzles can also get very annoying at times and it gets very easy to get lost. With finding a map being the only way at times. However, if you forget about all that. Doom is definitely an experience to appreciate. Expand
