Head of MIA declared this during a ceremony of handover of new patrol cars to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and starting of the new police patrol in the Borispol airport.

Arsen Avakov noted that the Borispol district of Kiev region will become  "first step" of MIA reform, a place where the system of law-enforcement bodies will be completely "reset".  According to him, this process can take about three months. The Borispol district will become the first place where the whole system of  police work – from district police office to office of "sheriff"-precinct police inspector -  will be changed.

"It will be completely changed system of police work" – noted the Minister of Internal Affairs.

Arsen Avakov stressed also that the Borispol district became the first transport hub where the new patrol police works. He meant patrolling of the Borispol airport and highway Kiev-Borispol by the new police.

Since October 6 at the largest airport of Ukraine - "Borispol" – new police starts to work.  From now on guests of Ukraine will be welcomed and seen off by the staff of patrol service of the capital.

Eighty policemen will work in four shifts - 20 persons in each.  Their task - to protect public order in Terminal D, on the station square and on the highway Kiev - Borispol.

Each shift will include two car patrols. One of them will supervise the station square and also prevent drivers from parking their cars in unsuitable places.  The second crew will protect law and order on the route Kiev – Borispol.

Policemen from the Kiev Police Department will patrol the airport so far, but soon this duty will be taken up by Borispol "own" police officers:  On October 6 recruitment to the patrol police of the Borispol district began.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure for transfer to MIA of 85 new cars that will be used by the Ukrainian police.

These business class cars Hyundai Sonata were purchased using budget funds and were used by the company Sky Taxi in Borispol airport during the European Football Championship EURO-2012. Each car is equipped with conditioner, a terminal for receiving credit cards and counter, a dashboard camera and GPS navigator. Such equipment and class of these cars made them uncompetitive in the market of taxi services.  Therefore Borispol airport decided to hand them to the police and thus to repay part of its debt to the state budget, which has arisen as a result of preparations for EURO-2012.

All cars underwent preventive maintenance, have been marked in accordance with the standards of the Ukrainian police and equipped with the red and blue flashing beacons.  From October 6 85 car went into disposal of the patrol police of Ukraine.
