Olly won the honour of Best Boy in the 4Music Video Honours 2011
You cast your votes, and here are the winners
We asked you to vote for your favourite acts of this year. You voted in your thousands and just for the record, here are the winners:
Best Boy: Olly Murs
March saw Olly belting out ballad Heart On my Sleeve, and May saw him smooching with a shop dummy in the Busy video. Not only did he land a new job co-hosting The Xtra Factor in the second half of the year but he's also about to unleash his second album on the world. Watch Olly accepting his award.
Best Girl: Rihanna
Rihanna kicked the year off with controversy when she released S+M, a video so naughty we could only play a small part of it. She then showed her softer side with California King Bed. 2011 also saw her visiting 20 countries on the Loud tour and the release of her sixth studio album Talk That Talk.
Best Breakthrough: One Direction
Just a year ago we were enjoying 1D on the X Factor live shows, now they're fully fledged chart stars, with their debut single What Makes You Beautiful a number one smash and an album on the way.
Best Group: One Direction
They might have lost to Matt Cardle on last year's X Factor, but they're certainly looking like winners now! On finishing they show they signed a £2 million record contract and made their debut album. The lads' first single rocketed straight to No.1.
Best Big Beat: Nicki Minaj - Super Bass
Nicki Minaj teamed up with Rihanna on Fly and David Guetta on Where Dem Girls At. But it’s a solo offering that got the honour of a Best Big Beats nomination - and ultimately a win. When she launched this video, her status as R'n'B’s Queen of Quirkiness was confirmed.
Best Video of 2011: One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful
Wow - not again! This makes One Direction the big winners in the 4Music Video Honours this year. Well done guys. Watch our interview with the lads after we told them about their triple win.
