One Direction announce 2012 tour dates for Australia and New Zealand

One Direction recently made a promise to their Australian and New Zealand fans, that they would be paying them a visit sometime soon and it seems that the boys are men of their word.

Last week Harry Styles tweeted his supporters down under and said:

“Hi 1D Aussie & Kiwi fans!! We’re definitely coming to Australia & New Zealand! Keep an eye out! :D Harry x”

Today, it has been revealed that the boys will be touring in the region and in the not too distant future.

In fact, as soon as they wrap up their American concert dates, Harry, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson will be jetting off to Sydney to begin the Oz leg of the tour.

The boys have quite the fanbase on the other side of the world and last year their debut single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ reached the top ten in both the Australian and New Zealand Singles Charts. Their album ‘Up All Night’ debuted on the Australian Albums Chart at number five and peaked at number four. The record debuted on the New Zealand Albums Chart at number two.

Check out One Direction’s Australian and New Zealand tour dates below:

It’s been a big week for the X Factor stars, as after winning their first ever Brit Award on Sunday, the group also became the highest US Hot 100 debut for a UK act in over 14 years.

They will embark on their US tour this week and the hunky singers will also play NBC’s Today show on March 12 — the day before ‘Up All Night’ is released stateside.
