The final numbers brought several adult 18-49 adjustments to last night’s preliminary numbers.
American Idol was up 0.1 to an 8.4 rating and Human Target was adjusted down a tenth to a 2.3 rating in adults 18-49.
ABC’s Better With You (2.1) and Modern Family (5.1) were both adjusted up a tenth.
Criminal Minds was down 0.1 to a 3.6 rating and Blue Bloods was down 0.2 to a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating, giving the edge for the week back to The Good Wife. Not sure whether and what role local preemptions and other factors played in the 0.2 adjustment for Blue Bloods. Update: commenter Alyssa backs up what Bill had wondered in an e-mail to me and says CM and BB were preempted for Duke/North Carolina basketball game in the Carolinas.

Modern Family is a beast
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
the incredible modern family ties season and series high & better with you no longer at new series low yaaaaaaaaay
Take that GLEE!
I know that’s a new series high in total viewers for Modern Family, possibly a series high in 18-49 as well.
Ah, TGW fans rejoice, it isn’t the lowest rated non-Friday drama on CBS now
And by 2.7 I meant MrS got a 3.7.
No quarter-hours for Mr. Sunshine?
Ha, I waited until Travis fixed the typo and still managed to post the uncorrected numbers anyway (fixed, and nagging comments — which were appreciated, deleted).
So TGW still > BB! Yeah baby!!!
Modern Family ties series high, Better with You ties series low (but at least it isn’t a new low).
And wow, Mr. Sunshine beat Criminal Minds. CT hasn’t done that this whole season.
Also, Human Target got a 2.3 rating out of an 8.4 lead-in. M2WI got the same rating for its 9pm broadcast with a 1.3 lead-in. Is there any doubt in anybody’s mind that Human Target is dead? If there is, you might want to get your head checked out.
I’m happy for MF. I hope it gets higher like when TBBT scored up to low-6s last season.
Nice, The Middle wasn’t adjusted down!
Terrible LTD. 0.9? Horrible. CBS should have just sticked with crime drana repeats there.
No, Modern Family didn’t hit series highs in adults 18-49 or total viewers, but it did rank as one of the most watched of the show, it was the second highest rated episode of the show. But great for Modern Family! I love Glee as well but I do think Modern Family is the better comedy. Mr. Sunshine of course got a bump from Modern Family, so I don’t expect to see those numbers next week for the second episode.
@SJ
SEriously, why are you so nuts about Human Target? At least it got higher ratings than TGW!!!
@Jonathan
5.1 matches a series high for Modern Family, which it hit twice previously this season, for the premiere and one other time.
Matthew Perry is my favorite actor on FRIENDS. I support you, sir.
In North Carolina (where I live), they pre-empted BB and Criminal Minds on the local CBS affiliate for Duke/UNC basketball.
@Alyssa, that explains a lot.
Yes Criminal Minds was pre-empted for a basketball game in SC, that explain the drop.
@Junior G, the info I’m looking at shows the previously most-watched MF with 13.14 million viewers (this season’s Halloween episode) as opposed to the 13.16 million it received last night.
Yes that’s great for Better with You that it didn’t get a new low cause it was very funny, just tied and its really not bad considering that its range is 2.1 to 2.5 plus it was against AI and its held up pretty good too, also great for modern family to tie a series high, i saw it and pretty good episode, Also pretty good for Mr.Sunshine cause it was pretty good (though no Cougar Town), sad Off the map didn’t get a little help
Yet another scientific ratings anomaly.
Just like the simple minded 18-49 ad dollar demo, a pre-emtion in a market will probably hold against the future success or lack thereof of ad purchases for a show, regardless of any make goods on the particular program (Blue Bloods) at hand.
