Fans of the 2022 animated hit The Bad Guys are getting quite the holiday gift.
Netflix has announced that The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday, a roughly 23-minute prequel “film” rated TV-Y7, will be released by the streaming giant on Thursday, Nov. 30.
Directed by Emmy winner Bret Haaland (The Penguins of Madagascar), The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday is described as “new adventure set before the events of the feature.”
“There’s nothing the Bad Guys love more than Christmas morning,” reads the official synopsis, “because while everyone is home opening presents, it’s the perfect time to execute their city-wide holiday heist. But when Christmas is unexpectedly canceled, the Bad Guys must do the unthinkable: reignite the city’s holiday spirit by giving instead of taking.”
The all-new voice cast for the holiday-themed prequel includes Michael Godere (The Affair) as Wolf, Ezekiel Ajeigbe (Outer Banks) as Shark, Raul Ceballos (The Boss Baby: Back in the Crib) as Piranha, Chris Diamantopoulos (American Dad) as Snake, Mallory Low (Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles) as Tarantula and Zehra Fazal (Dew Drop Diaries) as Tiffany Fluffit. In the original movie, those roles were respectively voiced by Sam Rockwell, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Marc Maron, Awkwafina and Lily Singh.
Additionally, Keith Silverstein (Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir) voices Gary the Shaved Ice Vendor and Kari Wahlgren (Star Trek: Lower Decks) voices DJ Trudy Tude.
Will you and your family be hanging out with The Bad Guys this holiday season?
Wait it’s a full movie? What’s the runtime?
It’s billed as a “film,” but I am checking on running time. May be less than 30 minutes 🤷🏻♂️
UPDATE: “About 23 minutes.”
They seriously couldn’t afford Craig Robinson?
I really liked The Bad Guys but casting new/cheaper actors for these roles does not make this seem like a prestige project. Hopefully a real sequel is coming.
Netflix did the same thing with one of the Trolls specials too
This is nothing new. They did this with other dreamwork movies
I’m surprise Comcast didn’t release with their Peacock service. I assume they know kids are more into Netflix and they will get more money for Netflix to stream it there.
They have a relationship with Netflix going on ten years now. Peacock hasn’t changed that
