Tyson Fury has 47 stitches removed from eye, as Frank Warren reveals concern about timing of Deontay Wilder rematch
Tyson Fury feels 'absolutely fantastic' after it was revealed he has had all 47 stitches removed from the eye he had horrifically opened by Otto Wallin.
The Brit was caught by the battling Swede during his heavyweight bout in Las Vegas.
Fury, who bravely fought on to secure a unanimous decision victory, was taken straight to hospital after the gruelling fight.
Just 10 days later, though, and the former world champion is on the mend after having the stitches taken out in Manchester and shared a video on Instagram showing off his barely visible wounds.

"I've just got out the gym and I am feeling absolutely fantastic, the cut is healing very well as I’m three quarter vampire," he said.
“I don’t remember feeling better to be fair.
“Very happy, very healthy and very well.
“Spreading positivity as always, everybody out there who’s down and needs that kick today, needs that bit of get up and go, get yourself up, get on the road, go to the gym, do whatever makes you feel good.
"As long as it’s positive. Crack on with your job and do it.
“Saying I’m a gym junkie, I suppose I am a gym junkie, I love the gym, I love the feeling you get when you’ve had a good workout.
"Take it easy people.
“Never give up on your dreams. Always keep moving forward, stay healthy, stay strong, stay blessed."
Fury is due to rematch WBC holder Deontay Wilder for a second time on February 22, following their controversial draw at the end of 2018 and promoter Frank Warren has said he is not sure if the cut will have healed fully by then.
"We won’t know for sure if such an horrific cut has healed properly for another six or seven weeks", Warren explained.
"Tyson will not be able to do any physical exercise for two months. Then he will need to start sparring just before or just after Christmas to get in the seven or eight weeks he will need in camp to be ready by mid-February.
"Fortunately it was a clean cut, not jagged, so it didn’t need to be reopened for plastic surgery.
"But we will still need to be sure it is OK. This is always the risk with boxing. One punch can change everything."
“He may be cleared by a commissioner, but as soon as that cut gets touched like you said, it’s going to be soft and it’s going to be red and you’re going up against probably the hardest puncher in boxing in Deontay Wilder.
“That’s not a guy that you want hitting on that cut you got several months prior, partially. Even though it’s not ideal and it makes people wait even longer, I would like to see this fight pushed back a little bit more just to make sure Tyson Fury’s eye is ready to go.
“It’s never going to be perfect, it’s never going to be the same, but it’s going to be better.
"The scar tissue will have formed and he won’t have the softness, the redness around the eye if he comes back too soon.
“Because we don’t want any excuses, Max. Both guys feel like they got jobbed in the first fight. Wilder feels like it wasn’t a draw.
“Fury feels like he eked it out. We don’t want that kind of conversation after the rematch. Give the eye the time it needs to heal, take an extra couple of months and then give the fans, the media and everybody in the world what they want to see in the rematch.”
