Movies Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, Megan Fox sweep the 2024 Razzie Awards Meanwhile, former Razzie nominee and current SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher won a special redemption award. EW's editorial guidelines Updated on March 9, 2024 07:33PM EST As has become tradition and/or just shady-ass fun, the Razzies have been announced on the eve of the Academy Awards. The annual event celebrating the worst that Hollywood had to offer in the previous year was swept by the public domain waking nightmare, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, winning five Golden Raspberries. The low-budget, low-quality, cinematic low-point quickly capitalized on the copyright of A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard's beloved character expiring in 2022 with a horror film set in the Hundred Acre Wood. Blood and Honey was met with universal derision but was a hit by Hollywood standards, grossing $5 million worldwide against its $100,000 budget, and inspiring, naturally, a sequel. 'Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey'. ITN Studios/Jagged Edge Productions Blood and Honey won an impressive (if that's the word) five Razzies: Worst Picture, Worst Screen Couple for Pooh and Piglet, and Worst Remake, Rip-Off, or Sequel, with Rhys Frake-Waterfield winning Worst Director and Worst Screenplay. All-time Razzie champ and three-time Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone extended his reign with his 12th Golden Raspberry, for Worst Supporting Actor for the unfortunately-titled Expend4bles. No stranger to the shameful golden glow of a Razzie, Stallone was previously crowned Worst Actor of the Decade in 1990 and then Worst Actor of the Century in 2000. However, for his lauded turn in Creed, which landed him his first acting Oscar nomination, Stallone was honored with the Razzie Reedemer Award in 2016. Stallone has since been nominated for five Razzies since his alleged redemption. But nominating Stallone for a Razzie is like nominating Meryl Streep for an Oscar — after a while it just becomes a habit. Megan Fox in 'Johnny & Clyde' and 'Expend4bles'. Screen Media Films/Everett; Lionsgate/Everett Stallone's Expend4bles costar Megan Fox pulled off a rare double-header, winning both Worst Supporting Actress for Expend4bles and Worst Actress, for the much-maligned horror-heist film Johnny & Clyde. Fox had previously been nominated eight times, though her first was, rather unfairly, for the cult classic Jennifer's Body in 2010. Rounding out the awards, Oscar-winner Jon Voight won the Worst Actor Razzie for the little-seen action flick Mercy, while SAG-AFTRA President and flashy girl from Flushing Fran Drescher won the Razzie Redeemer Award "for her brilliant shepherding of the actors’ guild through a prolonged 2023 strike with a successful conclusion." Fran Drescher in 'The Beautician and the Beast'. Paramount/ Everett Drescher was previously nominated in 1998 for The Beautician and the Beast, a rom com wherein she was working at a bridal shop in...sorry, wait, no. Where she was working as a beautician who somehow gets mistaken for a nanny...no, science teacher to tutor the four children of a dictator of a fictional Eastern European nation, played by Maxwell Sheffield...no, Timothy Dalton. Though the Golden Raspberries are usually in good fun, the event has come under fire in recent years for punching below its weight, like nominating an 11-year-old last year, only to rescind her nomination. The organization behind the Razzies also retroactively rescinded an award for Bruce Willis, after his family publicly announced his diagnosis with aphasia, and a nomination for Shelley Duvall's performance in The Shining, owing to her treatment on the set by director Stanley Kubrick.
