We report on a case with self-inflected gingival injury in a schizophrenic patient. A 54 year-old female presented with multiple ulcers on her gingiva. The lesions were localized to the facial attached gingiva, but no other mucosal changes were evident in the mouth. The patient was diagnosed as having gingival trauma caused by excessive and improper toothbrushing. The gingival trauma was cured in one week by making the patients aware that it was caused by incorrect toothbrushing.
