Press Release IGC-OLC World League 2006
The first Season of the IGC-OLC World League has been succesfuly accomplished. Despite the bad weather in Europe in spring and August, all participating Clubs of the 10 National Leagues managed to score during all 19 rounds, between 29th April and 3rd September 2006.
The IGC-OLC World League is an multi-national decentralized soaring competition sanctioned by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) that runs in conjunction with the Aerokurier Online-Contest for 19 consecutive weekends during the Northern Summer season. Club members flying from their Club's home airfield on the competition weekend days are scored on an optimized 2.5 hour sprint task, all in gliding flight, with the finish altitude no lower than the start. The longest cross-country distance flown in 2.5 hours is handicapped by the glider's performance index to generate a handicapped average speed. The top three club member's speeds are added to get the club's speed score for the weekend round. Each club is ranked by total speed in their home country, then the top 5 clubs from each country are entered in the international scoring for that round. Scoring is similar to Formula-One, with each higher finishing position worth one additional point for the round. Scoring is totaled at the end of the season to declare the overall winner.
(Explanation Courtesy of Doug Haluza SSA-OLC Administrator )
We are honored to declare the winning local Clubs/Teams 2006 (total scoring after round 19/ Final Score):

500th Duo Discus
On Monday the 25.7.06 we have delivered the 500th Duo Discus to the Glider Club LSG Wolfenbüttel. After intensive operating briefing, Brigitte Holighaus and Hans George Berger handed over the glider to Rainer Heyer and Gerd Glawe of the LSG Wolfenbüttel.
500 Aircraft of one type is a respectable number which makes us very proud. Since the beginning of last year, the Duo D
iscus x has been available with improvements in many areas. Improvements such as a sprung undercarriage, winglets, cockpit comfort and more effective air brakes have been realised and will continue to keep this aircraft at the highest technical level well in to the future.
The "DUO" has many friends and there is hardly a club in Germany which does not proudly call an aircraft like this one of their own. It is not only the top performance which is convincing yet it is much more than that. One would put the docile flight characteristics at the forefront, which makes this a real ‚feel at home aircraft', the others praise the manoeuvrability and agility which make flying on the ridge and in the mountains much more easy and relaxed. These simple flight characteristics were the motivation not just for a few clubs to introduce this two seater into their training role and thereby take advantage of this remarkable spectrum with a single aircraft. The Duo Discus tolerates the harsh club life with ease and the easy ground handling is a relief for the members. Furthermore, the aircraft has been available for a few years already with a sustainer engine, known as the ‚Turbo'. The opportunity of buying a price and weight favourable ‚Turbo' is being realised by many clubs and private aircraft owners. The simple operation reliability and minimal maintenance have, amongst other things, have made this favourite Schempp-Hirth engine installation a sales hit
.

SSA-OLC Reaches 100 Claim Day Milestone!
The SSA-OLC reached a new milestone of 100 valid flight claims for a single day on July 1, 2006. Participation in the SSA-OLC has been growing steadily, and this is further evidence of the increasing popularity of decentralized soaring competition in the US. It also shows that the validation process is not a serious obstacle to participation, despite some difficulties earlier in the season.
The SSA-OLC Committee continues to monitor the situation with validation failures in the US, and is being pro-active in addressing them. We have also added helpful notes to the English OLC web pages identifying common problems with OLC claims, and explaining how to correct them. Most of the validation problems now are related to known issues, with either defective or unapproved hardware, or improper procedures for filing the claim. The overwhelming majority of participants continue to get flight claims scored with validation.
The SSA-OLC is the US national division of the aerocourier Online Contest (OLC). Pilots make flight claims by uploading the data file from a secure GPS logger that documents the flight performance. Additional info is entered by the pilot in a web form to document the flight claim. The claim is verified and scored automatically by computer in near real time. The pilot's score is then immediately added to regional, national, continental, and international scoring, available for viewing in real time. You can access the SSA-OLC at: http://www.ssa.org/members/contestreports/OLC.htm
If you are a glider pilot in the US and would like to know how to participate in the SSA-OLC, or if you need help with OLC problems you have had in the past, please contact the SSA-OLC committee by email: olc <at> ssa <dot> org (convert the symbols to get a standard email address). If you are already an OLC competitor, please encourage others to participate where you fly. Hopefully, with your help, we will surpass 200 claims in the US on a day in the near future.

US Glider Clubs Lead IGC-OLC World League!

The consistently good soaring weather in the western US, and some blisteringly fast 100+ mph flights, have put two US glider clubs on top of the IGC-OLC World League after nine rounds of competition.  Albuquerque Soaring in NM  has a commanding lead with 149 points, and  Black Forest Soaring of CO is in second place with 118 points, 37 points ahead of the third place club from Germany. The US Clubs have 5 of the top 8 spots with  Warner Springs Gliders of CA placed 6th, the Ridge Soaring Irregulars of PA ranked 7th and The Soaring Society of Boulder in CO holding 8th.

SeeYou Mobile 2.7 with FAI Assistant
SeeYou Mobile has reached yet another step on the way to maturity. Version 2.7 has been released shortly. It features some exciting news.
FAI Triangle Assistant will help you fly the larges possible FAI Triangle. All you need to do is follow the graphical suggestions and the weather.
SeeYou Mobile was localized to Finnish by Hannu Nurmiranta. Borgelt B500's pressure altitude information is now supported, the rocker button changes between pages in Settings and more. Read the list of What's new in version 2.7 at our website.
Make sure you download the latest versions from
http://www.seeyou-mobile.si/

---------------------------------------------------
SeeYou 3.5 supports Flarm and SIS-AT
SeeYou version 3.5 has been released just recently.
You are now able to download your Flarm through SeeYou and claim flights to the OLC immediately.
The Austrian users will be happy to see that SIS-AT Gummiband optimization is now supported natively in SeeYou. The Bulgarian users will be happy to see that they can now use SeeYou in their language and cyrilic writing thanks to Csaba Virag.
This upgrade is a must also for the users in United States and others who still use the good old GPS-NAV. Claiming flights to the OLC can be a pain unless you use version 3.5 and later. CAI file conversion now uses the bad old DOS software which makes the claims from GPS-NAV much smoother.
Two new graphs and color schemes for True airspeed and Netto Vario were also added in version 3.5 along with some other improvements.
Please download the latest version from
http://www.seeyou.si/

ConnectMe 1.4 supports Flarm and Bräuniger/Flytec
The newest version of ConnectMe is 1.4. It supports Flarm and Bräuniger Compeo/Competino and Flytec 5030/5020 devices.
In addition to these new features, some of the bugs were ironed out of the software.

IGC-OLC World League

The first round (29/30.4.) has been scored: the winner is Albuquerque Soaring (USA).
With an excellent speed sum of 343.49 km/h, the Americans secured a clear victory in the first round in the history of the IGC-OLC World League, followed by the FG Schwäbisch Gmünd (Germany) with 325.31 km/h and
SG Lenzburg (Switzerland) with 314.45 km/h. The complete scores can be found here:
http://www.fai.org/gliding/igcolcwl2006-1
We apologize for the fact that the scoring is rather slow at present. The reason is that it has to be done by hand until a software solution becomes available in June.

April 30th, 2006

Dear Friends,
IGC wishes to announce the creation of the
IGC-OLC World League.
The OLC-League is expanding to include more countries in 2006. As a result, the IGC will provide an additional Top-League for the 3 first placed teams of each round of the National Leagues. This will give the participating aero clubs / sporting groups an additional platform for comparison and press coverage.
This interesting decentralised soaring competition is based on the OLC Classic and no additional procedure is necessary to claim flights. It will be offered in the following countries (at the moment only northern hemisphere):
- Austria
- Canada
- Czech Republic *
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Italy
- Netherlands

OLC-League kick-off in 10 OLC countries
This weekend, the clubs of 10 OLC countries start their team competitions.

During 19 weekends the OLC clubs will fight for their ranking. Points are assigned according to the Formula 1 principle. During last years team competitions, we experienced, that the winners got their points primarily on weekends with mixed or even bad weather conditions, so the competition will remain exciting up to the last round.

As the OLC league is a club competition, only those flights will be scored, departing from the home airfield of each club.

Here You can see which home airfield is associated with Your club.

If You do not agree with our choice of your home airfield please give us a note to help@onlinecontest.org and we will change that accordingly. This change is only possible before the first round starts.

For several clubs, flying at big airfields with many different clubs it might be a good idea to build one team consisting of all the clubs at this particular airfield, (like it was done already at Königsdorf or Unterwössen or Oerlinghausen) to claim their flights with a better chance for a good score in the league. This will of course be valid for all OLC scores, so these teams must be defined before the first round and all pilots must switch to these teams in their competitors data. It is not possible to score individual results for a certain club but for a different team in the league.

The OLC team wishes all teams good luck and good weather conditions!

Due to popular demand we have added a new chapter "OLC" to the SeeYou support forum: http://www.naviter.si/forum/messages/6/2038.html
OLC stands for
www.onlinecontest.org

Please post problems with regards to the Online Contest in this topic so we can keep the conversations clear.

---------------------------------------------------
One of the last revisions of the airspace files was posted today. It includes 2006 airspace for Belgium and Austria.
Two notes:
1. National parks in Austria are missing because there is no coordinates in the austrian AIP
2. The weekdays airspace in Belgium is supposed to be incomplete. Judging by the looks of things - maybe it will stay this way because it is almost impossible to fly gliders during weekdays as it is.
Thanks to Hugo and Peter for huge work for the gliding community!

OLC-League is expanded to some more countries
This interesting decentralised soaring competition is based on the OLC Classic, no additional claiming procedure is necessary, it will be offered in following countries (in the moment only northern hemisphere):
- Austria
- Canada
- Czech Republic / Slovakia
- France
- Italy
- Germany
- Finland
- Netherlands
- Switzerland
- United States of America
The only difference to OLC Classic: the club participating in the contest must define a home airfield.
Only flights departing from this home airfield will be scored.
Why is an OLC team bound to ONE take-off site ?
The OLC makes it very easy to create an OLC club or group of interest for which the flights are submitted. For the OLC league it would of
course be beneficial to have a club which is located in three or more different weather regions. This would allow them to compete and submit flights to the OLC league with almost any weather. Competing against such a group would be unfair and boring. The only way to avoid such special interest groups is that the team competing in the OLC League has to decide before the start of the OLC League from which take-off site they like to compete and only flights originating from this site will be scored.
The rules are laid down here (translations to other languages will follow soon).

(if you wish an OLC-League for your county, please contact us: reiner.rose@onlinecontest.org)

Good news for all users of CAI types 10, 20 & 25
The OLC-team introduced a change to the server-side software, that addresses the problem experienced on the validation of the "old" Cambridge loggers. This change covers the OLC-server-side only, so the bug in the CAI-software is still there and still needs to be fixed. Plase note, all these problems could have been resolved much faster. The OLC-team notified Cambridge immediately and several times, but never received any response back trying to resolve the problem. Such a situation is intolerable for all and in the end especially for the pilots; the OLC-team sincerely hopes the relationship will improve to avoid similar situations in future (at least some correspondance is sought).

All flights, that were claimed and affected by that problem, are already revalidated!

Your OLC-team

Once more: Cambridge 10, 20 & 25

SeeYou Information
Those of you, who want to claim Cambridge GPS-NAV flights to OLC should download and install this patch:

 http://www.seeyou.si/thankyou.php?fname=cai_dos_patch.exe

After you have installed the patch, the procedure to claim your flights to OLC is this:
1. Open the CAI file you have downloaded
2. Fill out Edit > Flight Claim just as you would for any other flight
For more help please refer to help@onlinecontest.org

Source: SeeYou

StrePla Information
Using the OLC with the old Cambridge logger is cumbersome, especially if you need the flights to be IGC validated. Even worse the Cambridge supplied windows software to create IGC files is not IGC approved and  hereby not usable.
We, the StrePla team, were confronted with that problem some time ago and implemted the '7steps' OLC solution in StrePla:
- download the CAI file
- convert the CAI file with the DOS software to the IGC file
- append the CAI file at the end of the IGC file (for validating purpose)
This works for all Cambridge model 10, 20 or 25 (the older once) without any special knowlege. Just download the flight from your logger using your PC or PDA and submit it to the OLC.
Test it! The download is free. The demo program runs 30 days without any restrictions:

Problems with Cambridge flightrecorders
There is currently lot discussion about a problem with flights recorded with Cambridge-Loggers types 10, 20 and 25.
1. A bug was detected on 01/01/2006 within the validation software of  the olc-system. This was corrected, but unfortunately another bug was  detected: SeeYou provided an IGC-file, that was not th same as when  using the Software provided through the FAI. SeeYou was informed immediatly.
2. After some investigation, the source of the problem was found: Cambridge provides conv-cam.exe and CAITrans.dll, both designed to translate a cai-file into an igc-file, but the resulting igc-files are NOT the same.
3. The dll is implemented by SeeYou whereas the olc-system uses the conv-cam.exe.
4. Cambridge was informed immediatly on 11/01/2006, asking to correct the dll and offering all support and information the olc-team is capable to provide.
5. As there was no response was received, on 29/01/2006 we asked for some feedback about the status. Again, no response at all.
6. To mitigate the situation the files were declared olc-valid (not igc-valid) pending resolution of the problem.
7. After several weeks without any further reaction, the OLC-team decided to declare the files as invalid.
8. On 21/03/2006 an email was distributed by Cambridge blamin the OLC to cause the problem. OLC replied, declaring the situation, disappointment about being blamed and offering again all the help to finally resolve the problem. No further response.
9. SeeYou implemented the conv-cam.exe in order to mitigate the situation. It must clearly expressed that this can only be an interim  solution, as only the dll allows proper and full implementation.
10. Chip Garner contacted the OLC on 29/03/2006 on this issue. We are not aware of any result yet.
To underline the OLC-team's position:
It is fully accepted that the proposed solution under www.onlinecontest.org/validate.php is not very comfortable, but reflects the only possibility the olc-team can guarantee a procedure to succesfully claim such flights. In addition, we are not aware of any problem when using StrePla. Any solution to directly use the cai-file during flight claims is not possible due to the used techniques. The conv-cam.exe represents the officially approved way to generate an igc-file out of a cai-file. Every bug should be corrected and not reolved by workaround solution under which pilots, the OLC-team and SeeYou suffer, when the bug can be easily corrected by Cambridge.
It is not acceptable that the OLC-team is blamed while doing everything in our hands to resolve the problem and do not even receive a response.
The OLC team is and will be always willing to help resolving this problem, we still hope the problem to be resolved soon and investigate possibilities to retrospectivily validate the already claimed flights.

Hello,

greetings from Finland.

I wish to thank you on behalf of Finnish Gliding movement for all the good work with OnLineContest and especially the OLC-League that you made available also for Finland in 2005. We have now obtained a trophy for that and it is really interesting for the clubs because the winner gets it for one year and gets it's name on the base of the trophy. The trophy is awarded in the Annual Meeting. Last year we had the League started at quite short notice but nevertheless we had an article in Federation's Aviation magazine and as result more clubs and pilots got interested. If you look at the results the three best clubs were separated only by one point so it was quite close. In the future the aim is to use the trophy and the League also for promoting the gliding for the public.

Best reagrds,

Antti Koskiniemi

Vice Chairman

Gliding Section - Finnish Aeronautical Association

FLARM  is OLC approved

FLARM Technology created the conditions for documentation of OLC-Classic flights by means of FLARM devices. IGC files generated by FLARM Version 3.0 or later are approved for claiming OLC valid flights. Whether the IGC file is valid or not, can be checked in the Info window of each flight. Valid files get a blue "V".
For FAI-OLC flights, flights with motor gliders and flights in the OLC-League (mainly german Bundesliga), an IGC-approved Logger is still required (green "V" in the Info window). FLARM is not yet IGC approved.
Since short, the FLARM Logo can be found in our OLC website banner. That indicates that the OLC is supported financially by FLARM Technology - a support like that is an important condition to keep  the OLC free of nominal fees!
The OLC team cordially thanks FLARM Technology for this support and welcomes FLARM Technology on board of our team.
"The family, that makes the OLC run!"

Ciao a tutti!

L'OLC 2006 offre alcune nuove caratteristiche e alcuni cambiamenti rispetto all'OLC 2005:

L'OLC 2006 a quelques nouveautés comparé à l'OLC 2005:

Votre  OLC - Team

StrePla - News

Hi !

If you belong to the lucky guys, which can spend your vacation in Namibia (Bitterwasser or Pokweni) in this winter, the following information should interest you.

The air space of Namibia has changed.

Over Namibia the maximum flight altitude for VFR flights was degreased from FL195 to FL145. It could be achieved by the friends of Bitterwasser that in Namibia an enormous area (so that a 1000km FAI triangle fits comfortably inside) south of Windhoek is free up to FL195. Outside of this area for Namibia a simplified release procedure for flights up to FL195 was agreed with the ATCO. The StrePla team has provided the new air structure in open air format for all glider pilots.

You will find the current air space in the open air format under: http://www.strepla.de/download/addon/NamibianAirspace.zip

For pocket*StrePla customers there is a complete package (map, turning points and air space) under http://www.strepla.de/download/map_pocket/setup_PS_Maps_Namibia.exe  (38MB)

or

http://www.strepla.de/download/map_pocket/setup_PS_Maps_Namibia_inclRA.exe incl. SRTM Radar altitude data (120MB)

For more information click: http://www.strepla.de

We wish you a lot of fun using StrePla before, during and after the flight

Tom Knauff in his latest newsletter about the OLC:
The OLC has become an exciting, international contest. I only recently became convinced this is fast becoming a major interest to glider pilots all over the world. Our local group, organized primarily by Doug Haluza (Janus C) is called the Ridge Soaring Irregulars.
For me, I now realize these flights are very important for pilots I fly with. Even though they are the co-pilot, they can log onto the OLC and see the flight we just flew and compare with flights made by other pilots around the world that day.
Flying with a local expert, on a cross country flight gives these pilots an extremely valuable experience. My flight on Wednesday, flew over terrain, few glider pilots have experienced, while I was able to point out methods, risks, and probably most important the constant decisions important to our safety.
Pilots almost always remark about the cautious manner we fly, far removed from the stories one hears.
The world leader of the current OLC is a pilot from Brazil, Karl Paul Voetsch, flying a DG 500M. You will immediately think of the South American mountains, but he flies in the most eastern part of Brazil about the same Longitude as us (41 degrees,) but only 7 degrees south of the equator.
Anyway, take a look at the OLC, and start entering your flights. It is easy to do.

The FAI-OLC for FAI-triangles has started  . . .  Optimization powered by StrePla

Logo StrePla

From now on world wide there will be separate scoring in all national OLCs according the FAI-OLC. Prerequisite to participation in this new scoring category is documentation with an IGC-approved GNSS recorder (logger).
The rules are very easy.
The recorded Flightrack will be optimized to contain the maximum size FAI-triangle according FAI rules:
- the shortest leg has to be a minimum of 28% of the total distance, or
- if the total scoring distance is 500km or more then the shortest leg has to be a minimum of 25% and the longest leg can’t be more than 45% of the total distance.
The optimization is done automatically by the OLC-server, but is also available via software (i.e. SeeYou, StrePla).
That's all!!!
This is compatible with the Barron Hilton Cup (BHC) which we support as a scoring partner (please notice that the rules for the BHC are different and a declaration before the flight is required).
The OLC team is convinced that the FAI-OLC world wide will be the choice of the serious XC pilots and that the extreme use of yoyo flights for the OLC will be a matter of the past.
The OLC-team thanks the
StrePla-Team for their co-operation and wishes everybody lots of fun with the flights for the FAI-OLC.
(Note: At this time only the “Daily Score” lists on the OLC website are active. Champion scoring and other statistics will follow shortly)

Translation:
EWS Aviation and Business Services Inc. www.ews.ca

OLC 2006

Hi all together!

The 2006 OLC has started.
There are plenty of new exiting features and some changes.
Thank you to all the glider pilots around the world that have again submitted many flights to the 2005 OLC. You have significantly contributed to the success of the OLC, which more and more has become the portal for documented performance soaring around the world. The OLC has gained further sympathy with pilots and non-pilots and has helped generating significant public interest in the sport of soaring.
More and more countries are joining in with their own national OLC and more national Aeroclubs have decided to enter a co-operation with the OLC to be able to offer their members a decentralized competition. Latest newcomers this year are our partners of the Soaring Society of America (SSA) and the Gliding Federation of Australia (GFA) as well as a new national OLC for the glider pilots in Israel which was initiated by the Sports Committee of the Israeli Gliding Clubs - welcome!

The 2006 OLC is offering new features and some changes to the 2005 OLC:

  • All national OLCs will have an OLC-League now.
  • In addition to the well know OLC-scoring (now OLC-Classic) we have introduced the FAI-OLC. The FAI-OLC is scoring triangle flights according the FAI sporting code definition(without flight declaration before start). This is compatible with the Barron Hilton Cup (BHC) which we support as a scoring partner (please notice that the rules for the BHC are different and a declaration before the flight is required). The official scoring of the FAI-OLC will be introduced shortly and we will score all flights flown until then retroactively.
  • Beside the Club-Statisitics we have introduced a statistic based on take-off site. All flights scored at a take-off site will be scored there.
  • Flights will be scored exclusively for the OLC in which the take-off of the flight takes place. The reporting into the continental and international OLC is an automatic task and does not need any action on the pilot side.
  • All take-off sites will be made available via pull-down. No individual entry during flight submission is necessary.
  • Only flights are scored which are valid according the two Validation levels below:
    • Flight Recording with an IGC approved GNSS recorder (green smiley in the Info window). This validation is necessary for scoring in the OLC-League, the FAI-OLC and all flights with a motorized glider. The approved recorder can be found here: http://www.fai.org/gliding/gnss/
    • Flight Recording with non IGC approved GPS recorders where the generated IGC file has been achieved with a software which is approved by the OLC (blue smiley in the info window). The latest list of approved Software can be found here: http://www.onlinecontest.org/validate.php. This will guarantee the quality of flight recording with unapproved GPS recorders long term.

We wish everybody lots of safe and successful flights for the OLC-Season 2006!

Your OLC-Team

Hallo zusammen!

Euer OLC-Team

SSA-Convention February 9 - 12 in Ontario  (California)

Great interest for the OLC in the USA

The American Soaring community was introduced to the OLC-USA directly and personally by the contest director with his presentation: The OLC System - A major leap for soaring.
No introduction necessary since the OLC was already well known for it's possibilities to increase Soaring activities in the US. Wherever we went, lots of praise and recognition from all sides!
And we are specially proud that the Soaring Society of America wants to cooperate with the OLC and is ready to finalize the project with a 'Memorandum of Understanding'.
The OLC team is happy to volunteer it's time for the soaring community in the US as well.
The OLC team wants to thank all the people with whom we had these constructive talks in Ontario:
Dean Carswell (Chairman Soaring Society of America), Chip Garner (Director SSA), Jim Skydell (SSA 2005 Volunteer Chairman) and Hannes Linke (Competition Director Barron Hilton Cup).
A special greeting goes out to the 1-26 Association, who kindly took us under their (1-26) wings in Ontario. We feel personally connected to Del Blomquist and the President Bill Vicklan as well as Garry Dickson and Doug Levy.
Last but not least our mission was so successful due to the energetic support, motivation and tireless effort of Matthias Mederer (Hollister Gliding Club, CA.)
Additional information about the OLC is planned to be published in Soaring Magazine.

Online Contest (OLC) recognized by FAI / FAI erkennt Online Contest (OLC) an

The FAI and "Segelflugszene non-profit GmbH" (organizers of the online contest) have signed a memorandum of understanding. The "aerokurier online contest" – renowned and accepted among glider pilots all over the world – is consequently the official decentralized gliding competition of the FAI.
7,643 glider pilots from 27 nations entered 52,830 flights with 16,200,000 cross country kilometres already in 2003. There is no doubt that the efforts of the organizers' team of this world-wide largest gliding contest have been worth the trouble. The claim that "the OLC is the best thing that could happen to international gliding", which was made at the German Gliding Convention 2003 in Hagen, is proving true.
The OLC-team have committed themselves to run the event according to FAI/IGC standards. The winners of the international contests will be honoured by an FAI-Diploma at the yearly OLC-Symposium in Gersfeld/Rhoen, Germany. In 2004, this event will take place on October 30th.
Now the FAI banner with a link to the FAI
www.fai.org site is included in the new banner of the Website "Segelflugszene.de" . At the same time a link to the Website "Segelflugszene" (http://www.segelflugszene.de)  will be installed on the gliding section of the FAI web site.

OLC airspace check / OLC Luftraum-Check

All flights in the airspace of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France will be checked by the OLC software for airspace violations. More countries will follow. The pilot will have to confirm during OLC flight submission (check airspace box) that he had an ATC clearance, the airspace was not active, or that he has been below or above of the active airspace. Flights which do not have this pilot confirmation will be rejected from the OLC flight submission software.

Negative validations / Negative Validierung

Possible sources of trouble for negative validations
Most frequent reason: Download from flight recorder with old software or not IGC approved software. The
OLC team recommends: Download with IGC approved free software available at
http://www.fai.org/gliding/gnss/freeware.asp
If this software doesn’t work, the reason might be that the used PC is not DOS compatible anymore. On
these rare occasions we recommend to use the windows software delivered by the flight recorders
manufacturer. With vali-xxx.exe you may check, if the IGC file is valid, before you claim your flight.
Another frequent reason: Change of contents in the IGC file by the pilot or by old software.
Please update Your StrePla or SeeYou with newest free updates before claiming Your next flight. Updates
are available at http://www.strepla.de/ and http://www.seeyou.ws/ Linux users may be interested in http://www.kflog.de/
Other possible sources of trouble are described in detail in the FAQ and in the validation hints
available on top of the OLC website (Blast it! Again a red mark…….).
If it still doesn’t work, contact help@onlinecontest.org

http://www.fai.org/gliding/gnss/freeware.asp

WICHTIG: Jährliche Teilnehmerüberprüfung im OLC-System (BHC, CDNC, DMSt, NSFW/CNVV, OLC, SIS-AT)

Euer Team OLC/Segelflugszene
