Is there anything more wonderful than being truly seen and understood? I think this conversation gives Hester a ton of food for thought. -Laura

Text reads:
“I have no doubt that you play by the book, that’s part of your charm, but I’d wager you get a great deal of personal satisfaction by being able to say, ‘Okay, buy your home, start your business, expand.’”
“You seem to understand me very well.” No one else had, she realized with a jolt. Ever.

I got it on Kindle and am halfway through it now. It sounded like an interesting story from the quotes and I'm glad I got it.

I must be behind the eight ball. When did Local Hero come out? When will it be out in paperback? TIA

No ma'am. There is nothing better than finding that person who gets you. My husband is the only person I have ever known who sees me, gets me, and understands me even when I'm feral and crazy. I'm so blessed that he loves me anyway.

Really, really enjoyed revisiting this story and these characters!!

Just finished a reread a couple of days ago it was as enjoyable now as when I first read it years ago x

I think being seen and heard makes everything you do worth it!!!!

Hester had lost self confidence because of her ex-husband.

I always enjoy being with someone that truly sees and hears me!

Really good book.

Just finished reading this for the umpteenth time. Love it!!

Cuando encuentres eso no lo dejes ir

As usual. good read thank You 😄

It's the direct communication between Hester and Mitch that keeps Local Hero so entertaining. Nora wrote this in the 1980s and there are VCRs and Who's Who references, but the relationship is timeless. -Laura

A good story is timeless. And Nora tells good stories!❤️

This scene was so sweet! Mitch is scared of messing up with her. That says something about the character. I think love makes us not want to mess up with our significant other.

Nora’s books all stand the test of time. The first I read was Irish Thoroughbred. Relationships still work

Great romance!!! Reading this was like a trip back in time - no Internet, no cell phones. Just three people having a relationship!!!

I reread this when the quotes started. I loved it again. I find comfort in being reminded of things that we used to use.

This has always been one of my favorite of Nora's books. I love the relationships between the characters. Just wonderful.

This book is just a classic. Love the way the relationship develops!!

Good literature is good literature. It reflects the era it was written in, but that's to be expected. That doesn't lessen its impact or entertainment value.

I read this for the first time last month & enjoyed it. The story makes it timeless

The two of them frightened made it all the better for both of them

It's a lovely rearesume very sweet moments.

Ah, such a perfect dreamy sigh moment!

Just finished reading that book great read.

I just accept the old technology mentioned, in the same way I accept horse-drawn carts and overly mannered behaviour when I read Jane Austen. It's just part of a good story

I really like the complete honesty that Mitch has with both Hester and Radley.

Finally got me a copy so I can catch up!

Rereading my copy now and loving it again x

I've read this book 5 or 6 times. Guess I"m reading it again!

So honest and pure

When it's important, it's scary.❤️

This is great

Un diálogo sincero que sienta bases importantes

Now that's a kind remark.

Sometimes when reading an older book and the hero/ heroine gets in trouble it takes me a minute to realize they don't have cell phones to call for help.
