Crystal Palace fans are becoming increasingly attacked to Mamadou Sakho.

He did Liverpool a favour on Monday night as the Eagles beat Arsenal 3-0 to land Klopp’s side a major boost of Champions League qualification.

Sakho had a strong game in defence as Palace shut out Arsenal and increased the pressure on Arsene Wenger.

Sam Allardyce wouldn’t be drawn on Sakho’s future during his post-match comments, but it’s clear he is making a big impression.

After two important blocks in the box to deny Ozil there was a huge ‘Saaaaakho, Saaaakho’ chant from the Selhurst Park crowd.

Allardyce’s comments suggest he is an admirer of Sakho.

He told Football.London when asked about his man of the match: “All 11 I think. It’s a tough one; Andros, Wilfried, Yohan from an attacking point of view. Defending; Mama Sakho. Defensively he rarely puts a foot wrong.

“He is calm and cool and when you see him chest one back to the keeper in the last minute, it shows you that he knows he can do that, no panic.

“He is making the right decisions. There were lots of really good performances tonight.”

For Sakho is was his fourth clean sheet for Palace in six games.
