Vikings actress Gaia Weiss and relative newcomer Freddie Thorp have joined the cast of Overdrive, the Scott Eastwood action vehicle being produced by Taken director Pierre Morel and Christopher Tuffin.
Thorp will play Eastwood’s brash and reckless younger half-brother, while Weiss will portray a confident and seductive thief who aids the brothers in their plan to outwit two rival gangsters in the south of France.
Ana de Armas (Knock Knock) is already in the cast.
Antonio Negret, who helmed the Jim Caviezel action flick Transit, is directing.
Michael Brandt and Derek Haas wrote the script and are also producing. Sentient Entertainment’s Renee Tab is executive producer.
Overdrive is due to begin shooting Jan. 4 in Paris and Marseilles.
In addition to Vikings, Weiss also appeared in Renny Harlin’s The Legend of Hercules with Kellan Lutz and the period drama Mary Queen of Scots.
Thorp only recently jumped into acting but is moving fast. After graduating from Eaton, he nabbed a role in the ABC pilot Doctors, then worked on the indie drama To Dream. He next shoots Metanoia, starring David Tennant and Michael Gambon.
Weiss is repped by Sara Puro-Steele at Independent in the U.K. and by Agence Adequat in France. Thorp also is repped by Independent in the U.K. and additionally by manager Ilene Feldman of LBI.
