Kotto's book Royalty contains information that he uncovered whilestudying his family's lineage. He spent more than fifteen years tracing his roots and discovered evidence that he can lay claim to the title of CrownPrince of the Royal Bell family of Doualla, Cameroon in West Africa. He alsoasserts that he is the great, great grandson of Queen Victoria. Rumblin Entertainment, the producers of Homicide: Life on the Street, have bought the film rights to the book.
