Adele and One Direction have entered Guinness World Records.

Adele has broken seven world records - the first female, first UK artist and fastest to reach a million US digital sales, biggest-selling digital track in both the US and UK with 'Rolling in the Deep', and biggest-selling digital album with 21 in the UK and US.

One Direction, meanwhile, became the first British act to have a debut album go straight to number one in the US, with Up All Night.

The Stone Roses' Heaton Park comeback shows have also been named the fastest-selling rock concerts in UK history.

All 220,000 tickets for the three concerts earlier this summer were sold in just 68 minutes.

Other musicians to enter the 2013 edition include Madonna, who scored the biggest TV audience (114 million viewers) for her Super Bowl half-time show in February, and Lady GaGa, whose Born This Way record was named the fastest-selling US digital album after shifting 1.1m copies in its first week.

Adele had the biggest-selling album of 2012 so far with 21 until Emeli Sandé recently overtook her with Our Version of Events.
