Super Mario arrives
Stanic goal - graphic

Goal of the Season, Goal One
Mario Stanic (Chelsea) v West Ham
Stamford Bridge, 19 August

Stanic, making his Premiership debut, received the ball from Dennis Wise just inside the West Ham half.

As Match of the Day's Simon Brotherton pointed out, the Croatian had "room to work in".

Melchiot for Chelsea .... Dennis Wise - here's Stanic with a little room to work in ..... Woooooooah! what a strike - what a way to make your introduction to the Premiership
  Simon Brotherton

The summer signing from Parma, with a reputation as a forceful goalscoring midfielder, is obviously a keen juggler.

He flicked the ball up and eyed Shaka Hislop's goal as he played "keepy-uppy".

The fourth touch was simply stunning; at least 35 yards from goal but a crisp, clean volley past the helpless West Ham keeper.
