Fairtrade status given in county
Two communities in Herefordshire are celebrating after they were awarded Fairtrade status.

Hereford, and the market town of Ledbury, are among 100 towns, cities and villages in the UK to gain the award from the Fairtrade Foundation.

The scheme ensures small producers in developing countries get a fair price for their goods such as tea and coffee.

Criteria which had to be met included ensuring the wide availability of Fairtrade produce.

The award will be celebrated on Monday evening at All Saints Church in Hereford where two Tanzanian tea growers will give a talk on how they have been helped by the scheme.
