BRISBANE, Australia – Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 85 event in Australia drew an announced attendance of 9,552 fans for a live gate of $1.325 million Australian dollars, or about $1 million U.S.

Tom Wright, the UFC’s managing director for Canada, Australia and New Zealand, announced the figures at the post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.

UFC Fight Night 85 took place Saturday at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The card aired on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

The event was the ninth the UFC has held in Australia and the second in Brisbane.

Back in December 2013, the organization visited the same venue for “UFC Fight Night 33: Hunt vs. Bigfoot.” The event, which saw heavyweight Mark Hunt fight Antonio Silva to a majority draw in the headliner, drew an announced attendance of 11,393 for a live gate of $1,785,000.

On Saturday, Hunt was back in the main event. He knocked out Frank Mir in the first round with one punch and picked up a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his efforts.
