TUF 16 Finale officially draws 2,427 attendees for $318,875 gate

hard-rock-las-vegas.jpgThis past month’s TUF 16 Finale event officially drew 2,427 attendees and a live gate of $318,875.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission on Thursday released the figures to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

The gate was slightly higher than what UFC officials announced on fight night, though the initial attendance figure wound up being slightly too high (2,500).

The TUF 16 Finale took place this past Saturday, Dec. 15, at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card, which saw Colton Smith crowned the Season 16 winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” and Roy Nelson knock out Matt Mitrione, aired on FX following prelims on FUEL TV and Facebook.

Of the 2,427 attendees, 588 (24.2 percent) received complimentary tickets. That produced an average paid ticket price of $173.40.

The show was the first for the UFC at the Hard Rock since the TUF 4 Finale. After that, all of its smaller Las Vegas shows, like “Fight Night” cards and TUF Finale shows, had been at The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort.
