MONTREAL – Saturday’s “UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit” card drew an announced attendance of 17,249 fans for a live gate of $3.143 million
UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the show’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) attended.
UFC 154 took place at Bell Centre in Montreal. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.
In the main event, Montreal resident and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre returned after a 19-month layoff and won a bloody five-round battle with interim champ Carlos Condit to unify the titles.
In the co-feature, Johny Hendricks made a strong case to get the next crack at St-Pierre with a 46-second one-punch knockout of Martin Kampmann. The win was Hendricks’ fifth straight and gave him two of his past three by one-punch KO.
The UFC’s previous trip to Montreal drew a reported 23,152 fans for a live gate of $4.586 million. That event was headlined by a St-Pierre win over Josh Koscheck.
