Mets sign Roger Bernadina to minor league deal

The New York Mets have signed outfielder Roger Bernadina to a minor league contract and invited him to major league camp for spring training.

Bernadina, 31, has appeared in 548 games over seven seasons, primarily with the Washington Nationals.

He hit .276 with 15 home runs and 62 RBIs in 373 at-bats with Triple-A Albuquerque, a Colorado Rockies affiliate, in 2015.

Bernadina is likely to open the season at Triple-A Las Vegas. The Mets' outfield is expected to be composed of Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson, Michael Conforto, Alejandro De Aza and Juan Lagares.
