Abstract

We describe a possible case of neuro-Behct's disease. A 47-year-old male patient had 10-years history of recurrent aphthous stomatitis and genital ulcer. In December 1998, the patient was admitted with fever, right diplopia, genital ulcers, and aphthous stomatitis. Neurologically diplopia was caused by right abducent nerve paralysis. Brain liquor showed increase in cell count. Brain MRI demonstrated low intensity area in T1WI, which showed high intensity area in T2WI and enhancement in brain pons indicating the presence of localized inflammation. The MRI feature improved dramatically after oral administration of prednisolone associated with improvement of clinical features. MRI findings in our case proved to be useful for early detection of neurological abnormalities and evaluation of therapeutical effects.Skin Research, 42: 305-309, 2000
