EXCLUSIVE: Tim Blake Nelson has joined the cast of Colossal, the indie sci-fi actioner from writer-director Nacho Vigalondo. Anne Hathaway stars as a woman who moves back to her hometown after losing her job and boyfriend — only to discover that she is somehow strangely connected to a giant lizard-like monster that materialized over Tokyo and is wreaking havoc on that city. Nelson will play Garth, who has a drug problem that he doesn’t do a particularly good job of hiding. Austin Stowell also stars in the film, which is set to start production October 18 in Vancouver.
Veteran actor Nelson’s recent credits include Fantastic Four, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and the miniseries Klondike. He wrote, directed, produced and stars in Anesthesia, which opens in January via IFC. He also directed the drama pilot Zelda, which premieres November 5 on Amazon.
Nelson is repped by UTA and Gateway Management.
