Coming Home Coming Soon
Last updated: 28 January 2008
Have you traced your own family tree? Are you related to a living celebrity? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
Yellow Duck Productions is about to embark on the next series of the successful BBC Wales ancestry show.
Coming Home traces the hidden Welsh ancestry of famous people from the UK and around the world.
Cilla Black, Rolf Harris, Paul Daniels, Patrick Mower and Janet Street Porter are among those who've already featured in previous series.
It would be fantastic to hear from you if you've traced your family ancestry to somebody famous or know of a strong Welsh family connection to a living celebrity.
If you'd like to share your family's connection with the stars and be part of the Coming Home series then please get in touch by posting your comments below or sending an email to daxos@aol.com
Unfortunately we can't help you trace your own family tree or reply to individual requests for help with research - please try some of the sites listed in our Family History webguide.

I am the second cousin of the actor Jonathan Pryce. Our grandfathers were brothers and his mother Margaret (or Maggie as she was called in the family) was my father's first cousin. No I have never met him - I have written to him on a couple of occasions when I could have had the chance to meet him but he did not reply.

I see that your show "traces the hidden Welsh ancestry of famous people from the UK and around the world."I may qualify since I have Welsh ancestry (Tredegar from the late 1850's until 1888)and have a bit of celebrity status (at least among my family and close friends)! The upcoming episode with Olivia Newton-John features the work of Welsh genealogist Michael Churchill-Jones as he traces her family trails and trials.Michael has been likewise helpful to my family in reconstructing my Family Tree with the very limited amount of information that I was able to pro! vide him from here in the US. He has managed to trace my family's migration from Ireland at the time of the Famine to Merthyr Tydfil to Tredegar and then on to the U.S.Our family has benefited greatly from his genealogical research.Dailey

A 17th cousin of the Queen - common ancestor is John of Gaunt. BUT I am a Republican! This stemmed from being told that I had an ancestor who was a Gentleman. He was William Williams. I was about six at the time. Some 18 years ago, I gave up on this. Who would look for this name in Wales? I had no idea where or when he lived. Later, I found a Postcard with a photograph of a house and it's name and locality, anong my grandmother's papers. I wondered if she had kept it because it was William Williams' home. I checked first with Dolgellau Records Office. They said it was. This could have been a coincidence but it was confirmed by a respected genealogist from North Wales. The house was Cae Ddafydd, Nanmor. It was all recorded in Griffith's 'Pedigrees of Anglesey and Carnarvonshire Families' and the History of the Anwyl Family
