With pre-production currently under way and production set to start in early 2016, Universal Studios has decided to shoot sequels “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” back-to-back with James Foley at the helm.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as lovers Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequels, while Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are back as producers alongside author E.L. James.

Niall Leonard wrote both scripts, which are based on James’ best-selling novels.

“Fifty Shades Darker” is scheduled for release on Feb. 10, 2017; “Fifty Shades Freed” hits theaters Feb. 9, 2018.

The first “Fifty Shades of Grey” grossed more than $560 million at the global box office this year and was the No. 1 film worldwide for three consecutive weeks.
