Ava DuVernay just dropped a teaser video on her Twitter handle that A Wrinkle In Time is heading into production and that the feature adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s iconic children’s novel is set to open on April 6, 2018 — the weekend following Easter Sunday. Given how many kids are apt to be off on spring break, Disney found that the post-Easter frame was a lucrative one this year as they played The Jungle Book to a domestic gross of $364 million, currently 2016’s fourth highest-grossing title.
Disney by the way already had this date RSVP’ed under “Untitled Fairy Tale movie.” The only other movie braving against Disney’s 3D pic less than two years from now is a Laika animated movie from Focus Features.
A Wrinkle In Time‘s cast includes Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Zach Galifianakis, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
