To get a snapshot of each state's lodging industry and the broad economic contribution it makes to a state and its citizens, click on the state's name below. 

Each one-page fact sheet contains updated statistics on the numbers of loding properties (hotels, motels, lodges, and resorts) in each state, total number of employees, tax contributions to state and local governments, overall sales, and industry economic multipliers.  Each document also contains similar national statistics, such as average number of guests per night, total U.S. guestrooms, economic revenue generated, travel spending, and industry charitable donations.
