Lareine were a visual kei band from Japan. Active from 1994 until 2006, Lareine had a sound similar to other symphonic visual kei
bands of their time (Malice Mizer, Raphael, etc.), however, the signature style and sound of frontman Kamijo's vocals set the
band apart. The band basically had the same members until 2000, when all of the original lineup (except Kamijo) left the group.

Around that time, Kamijo set up his own record label, Applause Records, and carried the band himself until around 2002, when
he planned on restarting the band with different members (think along the lines of Baiser). Around 2003, Kamijo, original bassist
Emiru, original guitarist Emiru, and new drummer Kazumi restarted the group's activities, and plans for a new single were quickly
in the works. Their album "Never Cage" was released a year later. However, around 2006, Mayu started to ignore the band's
activities, and avoiding his responsibilities in the band. Because of that, the band split shortly after, and their final performance
was in 2006, with Hizaki filling in on guitars. Since the band's breakup, Lareine's vocalist, Kamijo, has been highly involved in the
Versailles project with the final Lareine guitarist Hizaki. When Versailles eventually split in 2013, however, Kamijo embarked on
his own solo project. Kazumi quit the music business shortly before the band's breakup, and Emiru is now in a band called
Anubis, which he is the bassist for. He goes by the alias of Run now. « hide |
