Sam Taylor-Johnson may not return to direct Fifty Shades of Grey's sequel.

"I equate it to that moment, because I've got four kids, after having a baby when someone goes, 'Are you gonna have a another one?'" the director told Digital Spy this week. "It's not my decision, and I haven't been privy to any of the discussions."

Although Fifty Shades Darker is yet to be officially announced, leads Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are signed for three films, and box office projections are high for the first.

"The idea when you sign up for something like this is to honour the trilogy," Dornan told us.

"The idea is to make three, but that's for the studio to answer. This is very much a business, and it's all based on money and how many people go and see it."

Fifty Shades of Grey is released today (February 13).
