• QB Russell Wilson leads the country in pass efficiency at 199.3. The NCAA record for single-season pass efficiency is 186.0 by Colt Brennan of Hawaii in 2006. The last three players that led the NCAA in pass efficiency (2010 - Kellen Moore, Boise State; 2009 - Tim Tebow, Florida; 2008 - Sam Bradford, Oklahoma) were all finalists for the Heisman Trophy.
• Wilson is second in the country in completion percentage (.736). That would break the Big Ten record of .735 set by Dan Persa of Northwewstern last year. Only two Big Ten QBs have completed more than 70.0 percent of their passes in a season (Persa and Wisconsin’s Scott Tolzien - .729).
• Wilson has thrown at least one TD pass in 35 straight games, the longest active streak in the country. The NCAA record is 36 in a row held by Texas Tech’s Graham Harrell. Wilson’s favorite NFL QB, Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, has a current 37-game TD streak of his own, the second-longest in NFL history.
• Through just 11 games, Wilson has set the school record for TD passes in a season with 26 (John Stocco had 21 in 2005). He is on pace to become just the fourth QB in Big Ten history to throw at least 30 touchdown passes in a season (Drew Brees, Purdue, 1998 - 39; Kyle Orton, Purdue, 2004 - 31; Troy Smith, Ohio State, 2006 - 30).
• Wilson has thrown a touchdown every 8.9 passes this season. That leads all QBs in the nation (Kellen Moore of Boise State is second at one every 9.6 passes).
• Wilson is averaging 10.85 yards per pass attempt to lead the country. The FBS record is 11.07 yards per attempt set by BYU Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer in 1989.
• Wilson also leads the country, averaging 9.6 yards per play. Colt Brennan of Hawaii set the NCAA record in 2006 with 9.2 yards per play.
• Wilson is 116-of-150 for 1,766 yards with 18 touchdowns and one interception in the first half of games this season. That equates to a pass efficiency of 214.5.
• Wilson has thrown 102 touchdown passes in his career. That trails only Houston’s Case Keenum (145) and Moore (134) for the most among active FBS players. Wilson leads all current major conference players. He is just the 13th QB in FBS history, and just the fifth from a BCS conference, to pass for 100 TDs.
• Wilson ranks third among active FBS players in total offense. Wilson has 12,423 yards in his career, trailing only Keenum (18,771) and Kellen Moore of Boise State (13,665).
• Wilson has accounted for 125 touchdowns in his career with 102 passing, 22 rushing and one receiving. That is third among active FBS players, trailing only Keenum (168) and Moore (138).
• Wilson has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 44 of his 47 career starts. He has thrown for at least two touchdowns 33 times and at least three touchdown passes 17 times. The Minnesota game was his seventh career 4-TD game.
• On third down this season, Wilson is 46-of-59 (.780) for 550 yards with 13 TDs and an interception. That translates to a pass efficiency of 225.6. On third-and-goal, he is a perfect 6-of-6 for 25 yards and six TDs (465.0 pass efficiency).
• In the fourth quarter of the Badgers’ two losses, as UW has rallied from a 14- and 12-point deficit, Wilson has completed 10-of-19 passes for 173 yards, three TDs and one interception (pass efficiency of 170.7). He has also run for a TD and completed a two-point coversion pass.
• Wilson has started 47 career games between Wisconsin and NC State, going 29-18 in those performances. Wilson leads all active Big Ten players in quarterback starts. Kirk Cousins of Michigan State is second with 36 starts.
