One week ago, the Morrissey fan site True to You announced that Capitol/Harvest had dropped Moz just three weeks after the release of World Peace Is None of Your Business. Yesterday, Billboard cited a "source close to the situation" who refuted that initial report; Morrissey was still signed to the label. The Billboard story also called True to You's initial report an "incorrect assertion" and "rumor".

True to You have written a retort to Billboard and reasserted that Morrissey has, indeed, been dropped. They report that Morrissey and his lawyer have emails from Steve Barnett (head of Capitol/Harvest) and his personal assistant that confirm he's been dropped.

In addition to calling the Billboard article incorrect, the letter says that Morrissey never signed a recording agreement with the label and that he has full ownership of his album. "Capitol-Harvest have very clearly stated that they would have no interest in licensing a second album by Morrissey," they write.

They report that Russels, the law firm in London, are representing Morrissey and are "concluding [his] relationship" with the label. "Once again, Morrissey is in search of a new label," they write.

Morrissey has written for True to You many times in the past, and most official news related to his music is broken through the website.
