Terry Leslie McQueen, daughter of the late actor Steve McQueen, died Thursday at UCLA Medical Center from the effects of respiratory failure. She was 38.

She had been transferred to UCLA by helicopter last week after suffering airway blockage and breathing difficulties at her home in Malibu.

McQueen’s father, famous for his roles in “The Magnificent Seven,” “The Great Escape” and “Papillon,” died in 1980 of cancer.

McQueen had numerous medical problems in recent years and last November recovered from a successful liver transplant operation.

McQueen is survived by her mother, Neile Adams, a brother and a daughter.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pierce Bros. Funeral Home in Westwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in McQueen’s name be made to the Boys Republic, 3493 Grand Ave., Chino Hills, CA 91709; or to the JoAnn Barr Transplant Foundation at UCLA.
