Hungarian Defence Forces receive CZ BREN 2 rifles

20 December 2018

The first CZ BREN 2 assault rifles, Scorpion EVO3 submachine guns, and P-07 and P-09 semi-automatic pistols were handed over to Hungarian Defence Forces at Petőfi barracks in Budapest on 11 December in the presence of Hungarian Defence Minister Tibor Benkő and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Gábor Böröndi.

All weapons are currently being assembled in Hungary, but will soon be manufactured under Czech Ceska Zbrojovka (CZ) licence by Hungary’s state-owned HM Arzenál in Kiskunfélegyháza.

The factory plans to manufacture 200,000 firearms until 2028.

The EUR100 million (USD114 million) contract was signed on 28 March.
