Desierto
Director-Writer: Jonas Cuaron. Cast: Gael Garcia Bernal, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Alondria Hidalgo. A group of people trying to cross the border from Mexico into the U.S. encounter a man who has taken up border patrol duties in his own racist hands. 1st Screening: Sunday, September 13, 6:30 PM – Elgin.
High-Rise

Man Down

London Fields

Clairvoyant femme fatale Nicola Six has been living with a dark premonition of her impending death by murder. Anomalisa
Director: Charlie Kaufman/Duke Johnson. Cast: Jennifer Jason Leigh, David Thewlis. I put this in as a sleeper. It’s a small Kickstarter-funded film that is Kaufman’s first stop-motion picture about a man crippled by the mundanity of his life. It got such a rousing reaction in Venice that it could be one to watch. 1st Screening: Tuesday, September 15, 9:30 PM – Princess of Wales.
