Wilmington | The movie “The Warren Files” is set to begin filming in Wilmington this week. The production is building a house on sound stages for filming.

The film, directed by James Wan (“Saw,” “Insidious”) and written by Chad and Carey Hayes (“House of Wax”), is based on the real-life experiences of couple Ed and Lorraine Warren, who worked as psychic investigators during the 1970s.

Patrick Wilson (“The Switch,” “Watchmen”) and Vera Farmiga (“Up in the Air,” “Source Code”) will star as the couple who encounter the most disturbing case of their careers. The couple tries to help the Perrons, a family that lives in a Rhode Island farmhouse. Mr. and Mrs. Perron are played by Ron Livingston (“Swingers,” “Office Space”) and Lili Taylor (“Say Anything,” “High Fidelity”).

According to Hollywood trade magazines, other Perron family members will be played by Joey King (“Crazy, Stupid, Love”) and Mackenzie Foy, who plays Edward and Bella's spawn, Renesmee Cullen, in upcoming “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” King will appear in “The Dark Knight Rises” this summer.

Hayley McFarland (“Lie to Me”) and Shanley Caswell (“Detention”) will play more members of the Perron family.

McFarland and Caswell posted a picture on Twitter of themselves and Wan in the Wilmington area on Sunday.
