Some things in this world just go together, like peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies, and ballet and horror. The latter is one of many reasons why Dario Argento’s Suspiria remains a heralded classic. The 1977 film revolves around a young dancer named Suzy (Jessica Harper) who joins a new ballet academy, but quickly realizes it’s a den of wicked darkness. Now Amazon Studios is ready to rekindle that darkness. The streaming service is set to acquire and finance a remake of the horror story, Variety reports.

The cast thus far includes Tilda Swinton, Chloë Grace Moretz, Dakota Johnson, and Mia Goth. The film will also re-unite Swinton with A Bigger Splash director Luca Guadagnino, and writer David Kajganich. Guadagnino, along with Swinton and Kajganich, has been eyeing this remake for a while now, Variety notes, eager to re-introduce the lush, suspenseful horror film to the masses.

Specific roles have not yet been announced, but the 19-year-old Moretz will likely play Suzy. The film will also be a high-profile next step for Goth, an English up-and-comer who had a breakout role in the sex-fueled Lars von Trier film Nymphomaniac: Vol. II (she’s also currently engaged to co-star Shia LaBeouf). With her nearly eyebrow-less visage and waifish frame, the former model seems ready-made for horror ballet films, doesn’t she?

There’s not yet a set release date for the remake. For those who haven’t seen the striking, colorful original, here’s a nice fan-made trailer that highlights all the bloody action.
