Our History
- Sompo International Holdings Ltd. (Sompo International), a global specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, was established in March 2017 as the result of the acquisition of Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. by Sompo Holdings Inc. (Sompo).
- Sompo has an extensive global footprint with nearly 80,000 employees in 228 cities in 30 countries and its core business encompasses one of the largest property and casualty insurance groups in the Japanese domestic market. Sompo’s financial strength, global scale, diverse product mix, broad licensing capabilities, wide distribution networks, market leading technology and ultimately, the best talent in the industry, make Sompo a preferred partner for clients around the globe.
- Sompo’s commercial property, casualty and specialty insurance and reinsurance business outside of Japan has been unified under Sompo International’s Commercial P&C platform. Sompo International’s Retail platform, outside of Japan, continues to grow as a part of our on-going transformation in 2020.
