Man guilty of Sarah killer attack

Whiting was returning to his cell when he was attacked
Convicted killer Rickie Tregaskis has been convicted of carrying out a razor attack on Roy Whiting, the man who murdered schoolgirl Sarah Payne.

Jerseyman Tregaskis, 35, was convicted of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in the attack at Wakefield Prison on 4 August 2002.

He had denied carrying out the attack which left Whiting, 44, with a six-inch scar on his right cheek.

The jury at Leeds Crown Court had been deliberating since 1045 BST on Friday.
